The maps above provides street-level information on the centre of Chorlton. The 'X' in the red box shows the location of Wilbraham Saint Ninian's at the junction of Wilbraham Road and Egerton Road South.
Public Transport
The most frequent bus service into Chorlton is the number 86 which leaves from stand M in Piccadilly Gardens every 10 minutes.
The number 85 is slightly less frequent, and it takes a slightly different route, but it also leaves fromstand M in Piccadilly Gardens.
If you arrive in Manchester by train at Piccadilly station, the shortest route to a suitablebus stop would be to walk down the station approach, head for Piccadilly Gardens, and pick up one of the Chorlton buses as described above.
On the 86, book to and alight at Chorlton Cross (the junction of Wilbraham Road and Manchester Road East - see map below). Walk to the NatWest bank on the north-east corner of the crossroads and, standing with your back to the bank, turn left and walk along Wilbraham Road, past Morrison's, over the bridge, past the Shell garage, and the church is on your right.
On the 85, book to Morrison's in Chorlton, and you will eventually approach Chorlton down Alexandra Road (see map below) then along Wilbraham Road - but from the other direction, i.e. you will pass the church on your left just before you reach the bridge near Morrison's, which is where you should alight.
You can also arrive at Altrincham Train/Tram Station and take the no. 16 bus to Chorlton.
Full details of buses and timetables are available at http://www.gmpte.com You might find the bus journey is cheaper if you use a Stagecoach Dayrider ticket, rather than purchasing two single tickets for your outward and return journeys.
Buses
The following buses connect with Chorlton on Saturday afternoons and either stop outside the church or just a three minute walk away:
By Car
Parking
Parking is plentiful on the streets around the church. There are restrictions on Wilbraham road only around junctions (where it is illegal to park anyway!). There is plenty of parking on Egerton Road South and North. There is also plenty of parking in Morrison's – just a three minute walk away. There is also space for cars for disabled drivers on the forecourt of the church.
